Abies koreana 'Kohout's Ice Breaker'

3' tall, 2' wide in ten years.

One of the most spectacular and sought after plants of ANY kind in the last twenty years.

Gardeners, meet the next Superstar plant. This newer Korean fir cultivar has been creating a huge buzz in the conifer world for quite some time and will eventually be quite the buzzword in all gardening. This amazingly unusual plant is nearly silver-white and maintains this color year round.. Growing at roughly two inches a year it forms a compact ball or sometimes a narrow upright dwarf tree with silver hues because all of the needles are twisting to show their silver undersides. Fitting in almost any garden setting, it's ideal for a showcase piece or something closer to the home that won't outgrow it's location. Give it any soil that drains well and at least part sun and it will shine every day in your garden. Discovered as a witch's broom on a specimen of 'Horstmann Silberlocke', Ice Breaker can grow 3-6" annually.
